Royal Purple Powers The Green Hornet Tour

Sony has selected Royal Purple as the presenting sponsor of The Green Hornet Tour. The tour will coincide with the feature film release of The Green Hornet.

The film features the legendary superhero The Green Hornet whose popularity has spanned generations in various forms of media including: the 1930s radio program, 1940s film serials, 1960s television show and multiple comic book series that began in the 1940s and are still being published today.

The tour will re-introduce audiences across the United States to the amazing gadgetry of The Green Hornet's supercar, Black Beauty. Visitors to the tour will also have the opportunity to experience behind the scenes footage of the movie. The media can get in on the action too as newscasters, reporters and radio personalities will be able to broadcast live from the car's interior.

Black Beauty is a four-door, 1965 Chrysler Imperial Crown and is one of the icons of Detroit luxury car production. It is 19 ft. long and 5000 lbs. of deep black and brilliant chrome powered by an updated 454 cu. 500hp crate motor filled with Royal Purple's high performance synthetic motor oil. The car is street legal and has been meticulously restored and upgraded with many components.

• LA Auto Show, Los Angeles: Nov. 19-25
• Tampa Bay Auto Show, Tampa: Dec. 3-5
• North American International Auto Show, Detroit: Jan. 10-23

Reminder: Policy Change

In July, we modified our policy that required automotive/consumer product distributors to provide the dealer/customer name for all 55 gallon drums purchases. We now only require a dealer/customer name for 55 gallons drum purchases of 15W40 and mono-grade motor oils commonly used in the industrial market. All other consumer/automotive products are now available for purchase in 55 gallon drums without the requirement of providing dealer/customer information.

Royal Purple delineates between market channels because the industrial channel requires an in-depth knowledge of product application (the potential liabilities associated with misapplication of product is onerous). Powder Puff Off-Road Race Crowns a Winner

Congratulations to Shelby Reid who was crowned queen of the off-road course when she won the Royal Purple Powder Puff Off-Road Race for the Cure. 174 teams participated in the fifth annual all ladies event that was held Oct. 8 & 9 in Barstow, CA.

The race around the course wasn't just about winning, it was about teaming up to support breast cancer research. With the vehicles and the teams decked out in various shades of pink, some teams drove to honor loved ones they lost to cancer and others to celebrate cancer survivors.

The event raised over $122,000 for cancer research at Cedars-Sinai Cancer Research Center. Royal Purple is proud to be an annual presenting sponsor of the event.

RP Sponsors International Racing Team

Royal Purple also supports motorsports racing on the international scene. The Isuzu Motorsports International Off-Road Race Team recently placed third at the 2010 Australasian Safari.

Driver Bruce Garland and navigator Harry Suzuki equaled their result of last year - third outright and first diesel - in a 2011 Dakar-spec D-MAX. The team is now preparing for Dakar 2011 Rally, that they are chronicling in "Desert Quest, A Journey to Dakar 2011."
